My Pregnancy

I had a fairly smooth pregnancy. Well smooth in the terms of symptoms because my belly was anything but smooth! I had the normal symptoms but luckily nothing too extreme. The last two weeks were a little rough, nothing too bad though.

In the first trimester I experienced morning sickness, sore breasts and fatigue. As well certain smells would turn my stomach upside down. Luckily I didn't have an issue with keeping food down because I love food! My belly started to show early. I had an anterior placenta (my placenta attached to the front of my uterus) so so my baby bump had a head start.

Magically a couple of days after I started into my second trimester the morning sickness and fatigue went away. For the next three months I felt great. No morning sickness, sore breast went away and I had a nice amount of energy. If I wasn't starting to look like I swallowed a small ball I might have forgotten I was pregnant.

When I entered the third trimester the exhaustion kicked in. All I did was eat, sleep, work and pee. I would come home at 3:00 pm, lay on the couch and only move to go to the bathroom and eat. I would go to sleep at 7:00 pm and get up for another day of work at 4:00am. At least all the exhaustion and bathroom breaks only added up to a third of being pregnant.

In the last two weeks of my pregnancy I was diagnosed with high blood pressure. I was subject to a million tests to find nothing wrong other than the high blood pressure, thankfully. So I was put on house arrest. I say house arrest rather than bed rest because I was allowed to get out of bed but I wasn't allowed  to go anywhere or do anything. I wasn't even supposed to make my own meals. I am slightly attention deficit so this was extremely difficult. So I did everything possible to get Jaxson out early. I tried Castor oil, red rasberry leaf tea, intercourse, pressure points and finally acupuncture. Three days after the acupuncture I went into labor, so I am betting that the acupuncture did the trick.

All of what I went through, the morning sickness, bathroom breaks, exhaustion and house arrest was well worth the outcome, my beautiful baby boy Jaxson. I would do it all over again in a second, but we are waiting until Jaxson is one year old : ).

Talk to you soon
